Eat To Lose Weight Fast – You Really Can

Eat to lose weight now, or eat to lose weight slowly even, is a popular statement by many overweight people but that doesn’t seem to make a difference to our actual weight. In the US and Canada there are thousands of people overweight some of them massively, causing a burden on the health care system, as weight related diseases like diabetes occur more frequently. It’s not like we don’t know the problem exists, as there are hundreds of different ways to lose weight we can try, some that use diet pills, others that don’t use drugs at all. And we know the need for exercise too, as there are plenty of gyms opening up all over the place, with lots of personal trainers available to help us in our goal to lose weight and get fit.

So how come there are so many of us with weight problems? And what should we do about it? In the past food was not always available, or it was rationed as during the war years in some places, but more recently, there is plenty of food around for the majority of, there is no hardship involved in getting food supplies, and it is incredibly easy to pick up a ready made meal at the end of the work day. Unfortunately, it is because of the ease of having instant food available at any time that has strongly affected the weight problem. The fast food industry has expanded rapidly, with there being many choices in most places, all within the same area even, and it is unfortunate that these are not the best choices to make for our weight and health.

Fast food typically contains a lot of animal fat – it’s the fat and the salt that make it taste so good!- and a lot of salt, and the desserts with lots of sugar, none of which is good for our waistlines. In reality we need very little sodium (salt) in our diet, and we can get all the sugar or sweetness we need naturally from foods like fruits. But as we eat more fast foods, it is at the expense of the good healthy foods we eat. For example, eating a burger with fries does not provide you with any healthy green or orange vegetables, and an ice cream dessert, while it does contain calcium in the milk used to make the ice cream, typically doesn’t have much, if any fruit in it, while it does have a lot of sugar.

You should know that you can eat to lose weight, but you do have to eat the correct things, foods that are healthy for you and will enable your body to function better. The foods you need to be eating are the foods that you know you should eat, foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals, low fat meats, poultry, fish, and low fat dairy products. By eating these foods, we can adjust our diets from one of high cholesterol, to one that is much healthier for us – and it is possible to enjoy these foods.

As far as fruits go, there are now far more choices for the fruits that we eat, thanks to the fruits that are imported from all over the world. We no longer just have apples and oranges along with any other home grown fruits, we have mangoes, and starfruit from India, mandarin oranges from China, and pineapples from Hawaii, and many other fruits from elsewhere too. In fact, because of, the fast distribution system now in place, fruits arrive in excellent condition and ready to eat. The same applies to vegetables naturally, although we tend not to get too excited about the new arrival of those!

If we are to eat to lose weight fast , then we need to concentrate on these healthier foods, the fruits and the vegetables, along with the low fat meats, fish and poultry, but we also need to eat in moderation, something that most of us tend not to do. Our bodies have become used to large meals, larger than we actually need, so by reducing portion sizes slowly, and eating healthier choices, we will be able to make a huge impact on our weight and our health.
